Morecambe Bay Time and Tide bell

We had a splendid day out with some of the MarineLife team, looking for birds and generally chatting. We have not had any surveys to carry out for two years and are all keen to get back out to sea, still waiting for the ferry company to give the go ahead.
So this was the nearest thing, a lovely Morecambe Bay walk in the sunshine.
The Time and Tide bell is on Morecambe Stone Pier, and is there both to celebrate the outdoors and to remind us of the increasing threats to the environment as it tolls with the rising and falling tide. Apparently the sea temperature has risen by more than two degrees since the 1990s putting severe stress on the local species.
Morecambe is set to host a new Eden Project by the shore, with a strong environmental focus we hope will have a positive impact on the area.
