Goodbye Nanny…

We took a walk round the block this afternoon and discovered roads we’ve not seen before. Very interesting how they connected up. Several “Oh we’re here” moments.

But this house is in our road and belonged to an elderly lady we’d only got to know during Lockdown and only very superficially. She often stood in her front window and we waved to each other as we passed. Sometimes she walked out on the arm of a friend or relative and we were actually able to share a few words. It was sad to hear she had died. Apparently she was much loved by the children at the school in the road who also enjoyed her waves and smiles.

And so it was lovely today to see her floral tribute from her grandchildren shared with those of us who will miss her. The hand stencils on the window waving goodbye too. A much loved lady.
