Where the Light Gets In

A good afternoon

friendly atmosphere—
profound subjects debated—
tea and cakes devoured

Yes, decidedly, a good Sunday afternoon, surrounded with people I could be my whole self with - too rare an occurrence outside of home. Of course Julie was there too. Been asked to be the group's photographer when I could, which was nice - the last event was photographed, but very poorly (they said, and I must say I had thought so too), so they remembered I was decent with a camera. ;-) We'll see when they'll need me, now.

In the evening, I listened to a broadcast about our presidential election campaign. How unimportant it all sounds in the face of the war in Ukraine. This has been ever-present in my mind and I guess it has shown here, by my absence. I've only filled in a few days where I had taken photos by chance (lots of them are Sookie, I'm afraid, and taken with my phone), but I haven't been thinking of Blip much because of the situation, which comes on top of more personal problems. The only two times I remember leaving "holes" in my journal were in the second half of 2013 and for a while after J's dad died in 2019.

But hey! I'm back now and hope that I'll be able to stick to it once more!
