Sorrow

Usually a trip through to Dollar would be an enjoyable experience, especially in the spring sunshine. However, my reason for being there today was for the funeral of the mother of one of my friends. Ali was a wonderful, remarkable woman who crammed so much into her 96 years and was an inspiration to so many people. The packed church was testament to the high regard in which she was held. Now at rest beside her beloved husband Pip who died far too early in 1981.

The Dollar Burn which runs through the town and is the subject of today's Blip is created by the confluence of the Burn of Care and the Burn of Sorrow further up Dollar Glen and near Castle Campbell. Sorrow and Care seemed appropriate today.
