Statue

A statue of a hooded white monk taken in Blanchland Abbey.  For anyone interested here is some information about the monks.  The abbey is in the village of Blanchland - Blanchland means white lands and it is thought that the village got its name from the white habits the monks wore.

Before we went to Blanchland (a village in County Durham) we visited the nearby Derwent Reservoir and did a walk and had a picnic.  I have attached a few extra photos of our day out.
