Extinction

So the dinosaurs wanted to avoid becoming extinct by sanitising. But with some they took sanitising a little bit too seriously. So much so, they celebrated it like a religious belief and became alcoholics. Their tiny brains could not cope with the fever that followed. Hangovers imploded the brain cells and eventually the dinosaurs rendered themselves useless and unable to look after themselves let alone each other.

Well, that quashes the astroid theory.
