Going nuts

The weather has been so lovely that yesterday Ron and I brought out the garden table that Andrew had dismantled 4 months ago in order to fit through the door to the office to store over the winter period.  We couldn't find the nuts that secure the table top to the table bottom, but no matter, the table was still usable (if you didn't lift it up), and Andrew would be back to ask what he'd done with them today.

So we asked Andrew this morning where he'd put the nuts and another, more thorough search of every drawer, cupboard & surface ensued, once again to no avail.  Where could they be?  It was a real puzzle!

We enjoyed our lunch in the sunshine and just as we were going back in, my eye caught something to Andrew's left in this picture - a little pile of 4 nuts and 4 washers on the step.  They had been sitting there all winter.  Not washed away or knocked into the gravel by the wild weather nor picked up or inadvertently kicked and scattered.

The sunshine table is now duly fixed and sanity restored.  A very satisfactory end to the day.
