Late Afternoon Snack

Late afternoon, & realised I'd been busy & hadn't taken any photos, so thought I'd try to capture the little black bees which were darting around on the comfrey which was still sunlit in the front garden. Wasn't sure of their identity, but have now matched them to female hairy-footed flower bees. They're solitary bees, & recognisably female as they have all black bodies apart from the ginger-brown hairs on the hind legs. The males are browner, without the distinctive hind leg segment, & I didn't notice any of them.
