Tropical

We're staying for a few nights at Flaxton in south-east Queensland. It's in the Blackall Range which is 400 m above sea level and so a few degrees cooler and less humid than on the coast. Our B&B hosts grow many exotic plants, including species of ornamental ginger. Today's blip is Torch Ginger, Etlingera eliator. It originates in Indonesia and Malaysia. This webpage from the Missouri Botanical Garden has more information.
