Trees

Missed by a day (?) but this tree is for Joe Tree, the reason we have this wonderful thing to do each day!
The cherry trees at the UW are at their peak I think… sorry there wasn’t a blue sky.   29 trees on the quad, 3 different varieties, they are getting very old…. An interesting story from 1999 about how old they are and about how they were placed is here should you have a special interest …but there’s a good quick overview and aerial photos  (but 23 years ago!) and a nice descriptive poem at the end of this article.   Everyone of course is taking photos,  so I couldn’t resist these 2 dogs (extra) next to a star magnolia in a different area.

Also went in the Suzullo library to get a photo of this old growth cedar “table of knowledge” cut in the 1890s and carved by the artist from yesterday Ron Hilbert Coy, as part of an installation “Raven Brings Light to this House of Stories”.(a blip another day)
