Messing about

So after yesterday, we walked on two beaches to spare my knees.

Back at the cottage it is high tide. The Esk is tidal up to the weir at Ruswarp with a tidal movement of about 5 feet. When it's high you can get quite big boats up to Waterloo Cottage, even on of the pleasure boats turns around here in high season.

This is a group of adventure scouts making their way down river to Whitby, with a cheery "Hallo Mate!" to watching photographers.
