Remembering Courtney.

I went to the beach today with Alexandra and the girls.  I wasn't planning on going. But Peter didn't want to go, and it's easier if there are two of you, to watch the girls (and belongings).

It was absolutely lovely on the beach.  It was not too hot and the water was warm.  The girls had a great time.

It was just what we needed after we received some sad news yesterday.

Alexandra's friend, Courtney, died from breast cancer on Thursday night.

Even though we were expecting it, it was still a shock.

She had been fighting it for nearly 7 years, but her body just couldn't cope anymore.  She was only 39.

I feel so incredibly sad, for her husband and two young daughters, aged 8 and 10, and for the rest of her family.

All the memories came flooding back, of our time, and dealing with this situation.

So we went to Broadbeach, and sat on Courtney's favourite beach.  And thought about the times she loved to come here.

I hope there's a beach wherever she is now.  Where she can sit and watch the waves and the sky, and be pain free
