T’other side

The northern side of the Kent Estuary. Arnside is on the southern bank.
Here we have Grange-over-sands. After the Arnside viaduct was built in 1857 and the railway reached Grange it became a popular Victorian and Edwardian resort especially for the well-to-do from Manchester and Liverpool.

It is still popular today and has a mile long pedestrian promenade. It is the home of enthusiastic blipper Ken Petch and in the adjacent village Flavia 13

In this shot I was intrigued by the effect of the gentle flow of the river on the reflection of the town.
