Old and New, Now and Then

From the trip to Newcatsle, I really liked the new buildings against the old, these 2 actually joined.

Old and the New, working together.

Traditional and Modern, maybe that's what the uni wants to be seen as. Either way it was all impressive stuff, bathed in the sun, with blossom on all the trees too.

Felt connected to my mum while up there, she was a student there at the of the 50s early 60s before switching to a teacher training college in Alnwick.

From memory she was doing maths and had an option to try a new subject which eventually became computer science. Her life would have followed a different path if she had followed that route for sure.

Sadly she's not here today and hasn't been for some time, her and dad both checked out 21 years ago, way a head of time. I wonder how different our lives would have been had they enjoyed better health, or been more lucky.

My 2 children would have enjoyed 2 more grand parents I'm sure, and they them in return.

They'll hopefully both be here this afternoon to spend time with theirs, but 2 late nights, one through work, will mean it will be later today.

Have a good mother's day whichever way you can, even if ignoring it is the answer for some.
