Going Wild On Mother’s Day

We had a family day out to the Devon Wildwood Trust at Escot near Honiton to celebrate Mother’s Day. The Trust showcases animals that were once native to Britain but no longer are and native species that are under threat.

When Sophie saw the pair of brown bears her face was a picture and she literally gasped at the size and power of them. They were foraging in the undergrowth in their very spacious enclosure, ripping shrubs up by the root. We were lucky they were so close to the viewing platform.

In extras are the wolves, an arctic fox and a pair of otters. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a clear shot of the red squirrels. We had great fun roaming through the grounds, looking at the animals and enjoyed a picnic lunch at the adventure playground.

Definitely one to go back to.
