Solar Observatory

A shot of today's Sun and the gear I used to photograph it. The filter looks ramshackle but uses bona-fide film that I mounted in cardboard. It doesn't look very technical but does the job.
AR2975, the speckled group at upper right has been incredibly active since yesterday, exploding with flares 17 times. It has also sent three CME's towards Earth which should arrive quickly one after the other during March 31st - April 1st. Let's hope that the predictions are right and we have clear skies!
