Astronomical Observatory at Cambridge University

Immediately on our return to England, I was part of a group being shown the Observatory in Cambridge, followed by a cutting edge talk in one of the department's buildings. This is the 'Northumberland Telescope' which dates back to the 1830s and is still in use. It has a 30cm diameter lens and a focal length of 19ft.6in. The extra photo shows a bit more of it.
