Castlerigg Stone Circle

Today was a tourist day. We checked out at 10 and I took Catriona & Jo to see the stone circle. No, it’s not huge like Stone Henge, but it hasn’t the huge number of visitors either. It’s quite possible to have a quiet moment with the stones close up and the mountains all around.

We then drove SE down to Grasmere for the famous gingerbread, and coffee… but we skipped a planned walk around Rydal once the rain set in. Never mind, we’ve already had a fantabulous weekend.
