Life through the lens...

More snow!

We hadn’t expected quite as much snow, and so was surprised when we opened the curtains to see a white winter wonderland.
Today’s photo taken of the primulas outside on the kitchen windowsill.
Fortunately up early as we had a phone call at 8am to say the furniture van was on its way to pick up our old bed.
Arrived at 8.30 just as it stopped snowing, but in time for the school run!
Our lane is very narrow, and so although the smaller cars could get past the van, the larger 4x4s couldn’t. They had to move the van a couple of times as no one could wait 10mins.
As MrC commented, “ We walked to school in our day!

We were however very grateful that they came so early as we had to be at Dewsbury hospital at lunch time.
Mr C got a phone call yesterday to say they had a cancellation, and could he come today to have the laser treatment on his right eye. ( not the one with macular degeneration) He had been on the waiting list since late December and so was very thankful to have this done sooner than expected.

I drove to the hospital, and just half a mile from home there was no sign of snow.
However, as I sat in the car waiting for him, I had warm sunshine, hail, and then snow. Very large snowflakes which completely covered the car, but then the sun came out again and within minutes it was gone .

All went well with his laser treatment although it took longer than he expected.
The doctor examined both eyes very thoroughly. Did several tests.
He has another injection into his left eye next week.
All seems to be going to plan, and already he can see so much better. The cloudiness has now gone from his right eye, and he can see much better with his left also.
Hopefully will be driving again soon.

So quite an eventful day.
Hope we get a good nights sleep in the spare bedroom. Will certainly seem different sleeping in a 4ft bed instead of our 5ft one!

Next Monday the decorator starts, then the new carpet is to be fitted, and afterwards the new bed will be delivered.
Then hopefully all will be back to normal.
