Black-necked Grebes #39

We were having a parcel delivered today which was due between 1pm and 2pm, so we made a short visit to Woolston Eyes in the morning to see if we could find any of the Black-necked grebes. Crikey it was cold after all that sunny weather recently! Only 2 degrees when we got into the car, but at least it wasn't raining and we didn't have snow which was nice.
The grebes were quite tricky to locate and of course they were almost as far away from the hide as they could possibly get, but at least we got to see them. There were only 3 that we saw, although the people in the know have counted at least 24 birds so far.  My blip is very heavily cropped.

When we arrived home at 12:15, our parcel(which was frozen meat) was just sitting outside our front door for anyone to have stolen. To say I was a tad annoyed is an understatement. What's the point of giving you a time if they don't stick to it??? They have been very reliable in the past which is why we went out. Luckily the goods were unharmed and it is now sitting happily in the freezer!

I didn't manage to find time yesterday to blip, let alone catch up with all your journals but I will start now and see how far I can get before dinner.

Then I'm off to read my gas and electricity meters.  If you are in the UK and not on a fixed rate, then today's the day to do it so you don't get charged extra as your fuel company will estimate your bill and prices go up over 50% overnight. Outrageous.....
