Grape hyacinth

It's been another day of alternating (and sometimes simultaneous) sunshine and snow/sleet/hail showers.  With a biting cold wind.

These grape hyacinth are part of a packet of mixed colours that I bought soon after we moved in.  They have taken a while to get established, but over the last few years I've been noticing more and more - some this rather nice pale blue, some a more usual dark blue, and some white.  They are all very small.  I know I've taken photos of them in the past, but they don't seem to have made the cut and appeared on Blip.

Apart from a very brief wander around the garden with the camera just now, a trip out to the farm shop and to pick up some medication was the limit of my external ventures today.  W has been cooking - using up the last of the baking block that we had over purchased in the past to make some rusks.

I've brought in wood, and will be lighting the fire shortly, then we'll settle in the living room for a rare evening of TV.  It's Gardener's World tonight, and then the third and final episode of Earth's Great Rivers - we enjoyed the last two very much.  We didn't see series 1, and sadly it doesn't seem to be available on iPlayer.
