What a day!

Snow on the 1st April!
Mr L never did get a bed last night. He sat the the whole night in a chair in A&E hooked up to fluids and no sleep! In the morning a nurse told him he had to have more fluids before they would take him to have the camera down his throat to see what is going on. So, nil by mouth. Long story short, he was still there until they moved him to a bed frame in a corridor  in the early afternoon.

Meanwhile I had walked Dog in the snow, then went into work to finish what I didn’t get done yesterday, and checked on my two fabulous staff who had done everything this morning with the school.

All day Mr L was nil by mouth, he wasn’t given his morning meds or inhalers or even had a wash, was still in yesterdays  clothes and at around 6pm they told him he wouldn’t have it done today. It would be tomorrow. I think he got cross! Asked if he could go home and come back, and was told not possible. Dr was called who told him an internal bleed was dangerous and he shouldn’t go home. This sobered him up, and they promised him a sandwich and bottle of water. Considering they spent all last night pumping fluids in him, it’s weird that they hadn’t thought of it today! He was given some blankets for the bed frame and he managed to get a wash in the larger of the gents loos! What a nightmare.

As I was writing this I got a text that they had woken him up to give him the sandwich and water and to move him to a ward! I hope he has a proper bed and can get some decent sleep now.
