a lifetime burning

Great tit, on a stick.

Cathy and I set off on a walk this morning in lovely Spring sunshine only to be overtaken by dark cloud and some brief hail as were about a mile from home. Those early morning blue skies have gradually been turning cloudy as the day has gone on.  It is noticeable what a difference the sunshine makes to the air temperature, we started off too hot but definitely needed our coats and gloves by the time we got back.

There were still plenty of signs of Spring though, Cathy spotted a peacock butterfly which she stalked along a field edge in the hope of a photo with her phone.  We saw a group of 4 buzzards over Stantonbury Camp near the old Wansdyke, where we also heard a raven.
