The Tolbooth

Blipped the Tolbooth this morning on my wander into town to visit the barbers.

The Tolbooth which was completed 1590, was the venue for several witchcraft trials including that of Margaret Jo in November 1628 and Janet Lyle in July 1661: Jo was eventually released but Lyle was strangled and then burnt at the stake.

Such history in our past, which I love discovering.

Anyway, I hope you are having a good Sunday.
