April on The Grove

Lovely spring day, bright and sunny but cold.
Drove to my usual parking spot on the edge of Ilkley and did my regular riverside walk, always enjoyable.
Pleased l found it no different than BC : before Covid..
Always a treat to go inside the little garden nursery sited at the Old Bridge.
Cheap and no frills.
Bought another Euphorbia, the lime green one l had been looking for: 99p, unlike the nearby new plush garden centre where they are about £10.
Walked up to The Grove, the first Sunday in the month the road is closed for the food market.
Looked especially nice as the blossom was out, l walked out and back, buying nothing and then called for a flat white at Statzionni and sat outside in a prime sunny spot for a bit of people watching.
Saw a lady struggle out of a car with two sticks and l offered her my table as l was just leaving.
She told me she was a wreck ( her words) and that Covid had left her struggling to walk as she felt her muscles had wasted away. Hope that’s not permanent for her.
Bit of gardening for me now, the pleasant sort where you just flit round looking at what’s happening, the harder variety will have to wait.
