The Polochar Inn - our home for 3 nights! A magical place in a superb coastal setting on Lewisian Precambrian rocks in South Uist, Outer Hebrides. The name 'Polochar' comes from the Gaelic 'Poll a Charra', meaning inlet (Poll) and large rock (Charra) - inlet of the stone. This refers to the almost 2 metre standing stone situated across from the inn which is thought to date from the early Bronze Age.
