Simple pleasures

There's nothing quite as satisfying as splitting well dried logs. The timber we got around Autumn time has seasoned nicely in the greenhouse and is in perfect condition.

As my book of native trees says 'Ash,the king of trees to the Vikings ,is the queen of firewood and burns even when green'

Well if its good enough for the Vikings is good enough for me.
