La vida de Annie

Flores.

EFB of some osteospermums bought recently from the garden centre but unplanted out yet thanks to the incessant rain and wind. This year was officially the worst March weather here since records began, and April is shaping up to follow suit. Have to laugh at some inane questions on a local Faceache group, such as "can I get a tan in April?" and "will we need a jumper in the evenings?". These are from people planning to come for an Easter holiday in the sun, bringing with them the seeds of a seventh wave of covid here thanks to no restrictions or testing. Yes, we've had 6 waves because it's counted more accurately, and in fact at all, and each one coincides with an influx of tourists determined to party after the dreadful lockdown they never really experienced.
Some of them are already here. Overheard the other day in a semi-local supermarket: Man (speaking VERY loudly and slowly above a chin-sling mask in a "cultured" accent to a local man stacking shelves): "I - SAY, - DO - YOU - HAVE - ANY - COFFEE?". The obviously disgusted employee did not respond, except to indicate the shelves of beverages where it was easy to find all that you need. Poor guy will have much more to put up with over the coming months.
Rant over (for now).
