Remembrance

Martin and I have had a wonderful day in Amsterdam, with a lot of walking. After a leisurely breakfast, we went to the Vondelpark for a wander, followed by a trip to the Museum Quarter. We had a great time in the Rijks Museum looking at the beautiful paintings inc. some by Rembrandt and Vermeer, as well as Van Gogh.

We then went to Dam Square and the Westerkirk, before going to Anne Franks House. Seeing Anne’s house and thinking about the terror currently being inflicted on Ukraine, made me realise that we have learnt nothing from history. It’s all so sad.

Having a rest in the hotel now before heading out for dinner later.

I hope you have had a good day.
