Trapped
This photo links to the memoir known as A Long Way Gone. The narrator and author, Ishmael Beah, recounts his experiences as child during the rebel uprising in Sierra Leone in the early 1990's where the country became ravaged with violence. With all the bloodshed, he was forced to constantly migrant. But when he came to a new village every time, he was taken as a rebel and arrested by villagers each time. Ishmael's experience in the beginning of the book is like the the plastic bag you see trapped in the trees. It is an object that is easily blown around by the wind and each time it just ends trapped in other tree. This is sort of like Ishmael since no matter where he migrates to, he'll always end up in other village getting stopped and held by the villagers. Each time he gets lucky by convincing them he's not a rebel. Also, Ishmael has been separated from his family and his feet are blistered from walking bare foot on burning sand, at this point, the state that he is in makes him feel like a worthless plastic bag because of all the pain he is in. No matter where he goes, he will always be trapped because he is so far from the innocent life he used live.
