Trigger

I heard, saw and photographed my first blackcap of 2022 this morning. So lovely that they're back. The light was poor so I'm going to leave it until I get a better shot before I post.

Ollie dog and I headed for Longlands hide this afternoon as it was pouring. A friendly birder, who I have chatted with many times before, arrived. Trigger, his English Bull Terrier, was in the car and he asked me if I'd like to photograph him. I took a shot a few weeks ago and it was soft. He went up north to an EBT rescue centre to get the dog after his dear Missy died. Trigger hadn't been given enough exercise and hadn't been socialised by his overweight previous owners. He has calmed down a lot in the experienced hands of birder man. We're hoping that he and Ollie dog will be friends.
