The lambing snow

I've heard this phrase twice this week. Firstly in the local shop, and then at the hospital today. It refers to the sleety, blustery weather that often seems to coincide with the lambing season. The lady in the shop accurately described it as snow that doesn't settle. It is often followed by rain and melt. But it makes the lambs entry into this world that little bit harder.                                                                  RT 17
