Banksia #2

Back on the 8th of April, I blipped a Banksia from our garden, (banksia praemorsa yellow). Today I noticed another of our Banksia's looking extremely interesting when viewed through the macro lens. The previous banksia was shot using the wide angle lens.

Banksias are one of my all-time favourite flowers and this one in our garden is another prime example. It is Banksia "Allyn Gold", developed from Banksia spinulosa var cunninghamii.

It is a vigorous shrub growing to about 1.5m in height. It has its large golden flowers right now in autumn. One of our most striking Aussie native plants.

This is SOOC with no cropping today.

Better closeup.
