Back home

After a lovely short break in Amsterdam, we are now back home after a very smooth trip.

The efficiency of the Dutch was apparent and their integrated transport network a revelation (16 tram lines, 5 metro lines and everyone seeming to either be walking or on normal push bikes - no rich, Lycra clad warriors were seen either).

On our flight home, I was intrigued that this plane was named Wayne Fisher, so did a bit of Googling. Turns out that Wayne was a much loved cabin crew member for Easy Jet, who unexpectedly died at the age of 31. As a tribute, the airline gave him the ultimate honour of naming a plane after him. Also,  it seems that loads of staff, both cabin crew and pilots attended Wayne’s funeral, dressed in uniform too, which I understand shows ultimate respect.

You are not forgotten, Wayne.
