#OTD 1917...

...war poet Edward Thomas was killed in action in the first hour of the Battle of Arras.
It seemed a good day to walk up to the Poet's Stone, placed there in his memory above Steep where he lived.
Always a good climb, but once was enough. On realising I'd left Poppy's lead on the seat I chose to drive to the top to retrieve it, only to find it had gone!
