Askham Richard

One of the many pretty villages that are on the outskirts of York. Askham Richard is probably best known for the women’s prison that is right in the centre of the village. Fortunately the building itself as a lot of character and doesn’t detract from the visual pleasure of the village.
Here you can see I’m near the village pond, which will be a hive of activity in the next few weeks with lots of ducklings hatching and trying to survive in to adulthood.
