Picking up

Lorna Lloyd's great-great niece actor Bethany Ray is back in Edinburgh this weekend to correct some minor glitches in the work that she completed with us in February. (She couldn't return any earlier because she was rehearsing for, and then performing in, Seven letters by Rian Flatley in Ireland.) Bethany arrived late last night and will return home to Nottingham tomorrow afternoon.

Re-recording today started early. Over the course of the day, Bethany and David worked in the studio, and James edited, sorted, and prepared the new files in the Mac suite. Meanwhile Bruce edited a paper for another project (about information avoidance and diabetes) until the first set of 'pickups' from the diary entries was ready for him to check. He did this while the others recorded and sorted/edited pickups for the poetry, and recorded some of the war diary ‘re-pickups’.

Bruce continued his checking into the evening, identifying a small number of extra re-pickups. Early tomorrow morning Bethany, Bruce, David and James will all be back on campus with a newly marked up a copy of Bethany's script to complete the remainder of the work.

Bruce, Hazel, and Iain are hugely grateful to Bethany for giving up her weekend to return to Edinburgh, and to student team members David and James for working over a weekend in vacation time.

The blip shows James editing and sorting files in the Mac suite.
