A bit of Sydney history

We’re in the city for a bit of child minding. Now, I’m not a fan of Sydney but I’ve always been interested in the history, particularly quirky examples like the Long Gully Bridge in Cammeray (or the Suspension Bridge as my father called it).
Some of you will claim it’s not a suspension bridge, noting the obvious concrete arch but this was only installed in the 1930s when the whole structure was threatening to fall 50m into Tunks Park.
Built in the 1890s to open up a previously less accessible part of Sydney, it’s definitely unique, what pommies might call a folly, but it still provides an interesting view from our balcony.
