Eleanor Cross

Geddington Northants ,stands the finest remaining Eleanor Cross in England , built by Edward 1st to mark his wife’s passing in 1290 . Behind the cross is the Saxon/Norman church where many other Kings and Queens prayed including Henry 8th and Elizabeth 1st . This tiny village once home of a royal palace has been called one of the best preserved medieval sites in Britain.
