Hen Pheasants ( Phasianus colchicus )

If you look out into the garden at almost any time of day it is highly likely you will see at least one Pheasant.  The record is nine all at once.  They potter round the garden making the  Pheasant equivalent of clucking.

The hens are the most flighty, most will take to the wing if I come round the corner to top up the feeders.  One or two will run towards me but never coming closer than 2 or 3 m.  Cocks on the other hand are much bolder.  During lockdown, I had a couple that would eat out of my hand.

I thought it was time I had a change from flowers.
