Light Lunch

A special day in every year, sampling the first asparagus of the season. These are so-called “minis” (smaller than usual shoots, very tender) - cooked and lightly roasted in olive oil, seasoned only with salt and pepper, served on toast and cheese. A very simple dish; I just wanted the pure taste of this lovely vegetable.

Otherwise a strange day. Been busy for most of it, but don’t feel like I have achieved much.
