Malpensa

As the Lake road is open again we were able to take the direct route over to Malpensa this morning. Just as well as the detour we had to take on our arrival added at least an hour to the journey, plus time waiting for a ferry..

We had a coach on front of us. Normally I would have considered this an advantage as the coach would have changed all the traffic lights to green for us. Unfortunately this morning was just after the rush hour. There were quite a lot of oncoming  buses and trucks. The coach struggled to squeeze past these oncoming vehicles, so it took quite a while to get to Como where we join the autostrada.

Still we arrived in plenty of time for a snack and a glass of Prosecco before boarding the flight.

At Amsterdam we had a flight delay of about 45 minutes. We arrived in Aberdeen in the rain (almost inevitably) at about the same time as two other international flights. a huge queue at immigration, and then we had to wait an hour for our luggage to arrive. A loud ironical cheer when it finally arrived. Then queue for a taxi. The cold was a bit of a shock to the system after the warm days we had been enjoying at Lake Como.
