Muiravonside Country Park

As tempting as it was to head back to bed after not enough sleep last night, it was too a nice a morning to not head out in the sunshine.

I headed to Muiravonside Country Park for a wander, exploring paths I’ve not been along before here and walking up to and across the Avon Aqueduct.

There are so many trails to explore in this area that I should really investigate more about where they all go!

Random fact about the aqueduct which carries the Union Canal between West Lothian and Falkirk district; it is 250m in length (2 1/2 times the length of a football pitch) and sits 26m above the river (which is four times the height of a giraffe). It also has 12 arches, each spanning 15m.
