Balclutha Bridge

One of very few parabolic span bridges in NZ.
This one spans the Clutha River, which is the second longest river in NZ.

This bridge, which I think was constructed in the 1930's, is now listed as a Historic Place.  (Those of you in Europe have to remember how relatively young New Zealand is!)

I stopped on my way south today to share a coffee with Blaze.  Sadly, being on a straight stretch of State Highway 1, it's not particularly peaceful.  But I always feel a sense of peace when I stop there.  Anger too of course, at the drunk driver who killed him, but that's to be expected too.
