Lathyrus Odoratus

Magnolia soulangeana

Last year my gnarly fifty year old Magnolia soulangeana suffered from the late frosts. This year it has been superb. Past its best now but still beautiful especially in early morning light. Ten species of butterfly seen on this morning's spaniel walk up and along the South Downs, including my first Large White of the year. Sussex Butterfly Conservation tells me that twenty species have been recorded in Sussex so far this year so I am well behind the curve this season.
