Oil seed rape in flower

A lovely warm day.  Raked the cut grass up off the lawn.  The lawn had grown so much during the winter it was about 9 inches long!  I had asked the local sheep farmer if I could have a few sheep to eat it down but he thought it difficult with a flowerbed in the middle and not enough electric fencing spare to deal with the problem.  So it was mown and strimmed about a week ago and I had just given it a second cut.

The oilseed rape is in flower.  Not too fond of the colour but today it looked welcoming in the spring weather.

Second picture:  cowslip in the back lawn. There are masses of them at this time of year.

A friend's husband tripped up in the village and broke his hip. He was lying in the road for over an hour before the ambulance got to him.  Fortunately his wife was with him, and a policeman, and a passerby who gave him a coat to rest his head on.  He will be alone in hospital without visitors as Covid is rampant.
