Colocasia coryli

A Nut-tree Tussock Moth (Colocasia coryli) basks on the tarmac of a minor road on the edge of Nutley, Sussex.

Seen on a six-hour stroll from Newick via Nutley to the edge of Ashdown Forest (and back!) in today's spring warmth and bright sunshine.

(We rescued the moth from its place of peril and placed it amongst some dead leaves on the verge.)
