She was the eccentric aunt
Famous for her pottery
Her output dominated by gum leaves
Shared generously with family
Each occasion for gift-giving
Privately marked by shared eye rolling
As another bowl
Or egg cup
Or napkin holder set
Was unwrapped
But here thirteen years or so after her death
Her work still hangs
Clinking in the breeze
As the cobwebs gather
Neglected perhaps
But not forgotten
