Sgwarnog: In the Field

Ramparts

The ramparts of Denbigh Castle make an impressive silhouette in the late evening sky.

I’m back in Wales for the remainder of the Easter weekend. Unfortunately Mum has been in the local community hospital for a few weeks now and ongoing concerns about Covid mean that no visits are possible, but it makes a bit of a difference being close at hand.

The train journey down provided a few butterfly sightings: my first Orange-tip of the year as I was setting out at Baildon station; Small Tortoiseshell at Frizinghall; two more Orange-tip in the middle of Bradford; a Peacock at Halifax; Peacock and Small Tort at Rochdale and a Holly Blue at Frodsham! We will see what Wales has to offer.
