Out of the pit

Perhaps the most famous tourist attraction in Batemans Bay is the Terracotta Army, a collection of figures depicting the military forces of the first Mayor of the Eurobodalla Shire. The figures, dating from the 19th Century, were lost to time until uncovered about 1950 in a dig close to a plant nursery, in what could have been the Mayor's funeral mound. It is believed the army would have been buried with him to protect him in the afterlife following his landslide defeat in an election battle. Despite appalled opposition, many of the figures, and the warfrogs found with them, have since been scattered through the gardens of surrounding suburbs.

Meanwhile, in a parallel universe, I bought a bag of red-chip mulch today.
